Most people in Finland have at some point in time heard the story about Herra Snellman from Pietarsaari. Pietarsaari is a small coastal town in Western Finland where, back in 1951, our story begins. We are still very much here, coming up on our 75th anniversary, even if things have changed a bit since our humble beginnings.

Today, the family-owned company is Finland’s third largest meat production company and the biggest private employer in our little hometown. The company produces mainly meat, meat products and cold cuts of pork and beef.
The company has grown a lot thru the years, but still the driving principles remain the same: “We make the products as we would make them for ourselves”. This we do with pride, passion and an ever-present wish to improve.
Our products are developed with a high meat content and clearly defined recipes, including the use of additives where required. We strive to develop products with clear recipes and balanced flavour that are a pleasure to taste.
In essence, a Finnish origin, cooperation with local producers, carefully selected raw materials and defined quality requirements have constituted the core of our operations for over 70 years.

Over the years, the once small, brotherly venture in a basement in central Pietarsaari has developed into a group of companies employing around 2 000, but we strive to continue to operate openly and close to people.
Our values guide how we work with issues related to people, animals and the environment, in line with legislation and agreed practices.
This is how we aim to operate in our day‑to‑day work, and in doing so, we live according to our guiding principle: “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”
